Aguascalientes Strengthens International Presence in Washington; Tere Jiménez Receives Bilateral Recognition
Aguascalientes Governor Tere Jiménez honored with Public Sector Leadership Award at USMCOC event in Washington D.C. for economic promotion.
The Governor of Aguascalientes,
, participated in the 2026 edition of the Good Neighbor Awards, organized by the United States–Mexico Chamber of Commerce (USMCOC) in Washington. She received the Public Sector Leadership Award for her leadership and international economic promotion of the entity.
The ceremony took place at the Organization of American States (OAS) building, considered one of the most representative diplomatic venues on the continent. Business leaders, diplomats, and high-level officials from Mexico and the United States gathered there.
According to the United States–Mexico Chamber of Commerce, the recognition presented to the state governor is in response to the impetus she has provided to strategic sectors such as advanced manufacturing, foreign investment, and binational cooperation, factors that have strengthened Aguascalientes’ positioning within the North American economic landscape.
During the gala, businessman Steve Menzies also received the José Juan de Olloqui Award for Western Hemispheric Leadership, and Elizabeth Uihlein received the Private Sector Leadership Award.
In the diplomatic sphere, the Ambassador of Mexico to the United States, Esteban Moctezuma Barragán, and U.S. diplomat Earl Anthony Wayne received the Ambassadorial Recognition Award. Christopher Landau, former U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, also participated.
