How UANL Will Integrate Artificial Intelligence into Its Educational Programs

The Autonomous University of Nuevo León launches Sinapsis AcademIA to train faculty in AI, enhancing digital skills and preparing students for a transforming job market.

Artificial intelligence at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) is set to enter classrooms through Sinapsis AcademIA: Intelligence NextGen UANL BootCamp. This program will train undergraduate and postgraduate faculty to utilize this technology with educational, ethical, and responsible criteria.

In this regard, UANL inaugurated this initiative on July 7th at the Faculty of Public Accounting and Administration. The event brought together professors who will subsequently disseminate the acquired knowledge within their respective academic departments.

Through this approach, the institution aims to strengthen the digital competencies of its teaching staff. It also seeks to prepare students for the technological shifts transforming the labor market.

How Will UANL Integrate Artificial Intelligence into Its Educational Strategy?

Santos Guzmán López, Rector of UANL, emphasized that artificial intelligence requires concrete institutional actions. He explained that its incorporation should not be limited to the isolated use of digital tools.

Therefore, he proposed the creation of permanent mechanisms to monitor, evaluate, and update the university’s strategy. Similarly, the proposal includes strengthening institutional governance around this technology. Additionally, it will allow for a review of its outcomes, risks, and opportunities within educational processes.

. UANL must also constantly update its academic programs, according to Guzmán López. This process necessitates the participation of companies, organizations, and

.

How Will the Artificial Intelligence Facilitator Network Function?

Participants of the BootCamp will assume a multiplier role within the University. Each faculty member will share the knowledge acquired with professors in their department.

Furthermore, facilitators will be able to support the integration of digital tools across various disciplines. Each faculty must adapt technological applications to its academic needs. The program also aims for faculty to understand both the possibilities and limitations of these tools. Additionally, it promotes data protection and critical review of results.

What Will Faculty Learn During the Artificial Intelligence BootCamp?

The Sinapsis AcademIA BootCamp serves as a pilot space for studying generative artificial intelligence. The training combines theoretical foundations with practical exercises applicable to teaching.

Its content includes the principles of generative artificial intelligence and prompt engineering. It also incorporates practical applications for teaching and learning processes.

Furthermore, participants will develop an integrative project. This exercise will allow them to apply their knowledge in a concrete educational proposal.

The University will use the program’s outcomes to design future institutional training. It will also evaluate the integration of technological tools into academic practice.

Another objective is to establish guidelines for the ethical, responsible, and secure use of artificial intelligence. These rules will guide faculty, students, and university authorities.

Finally, through this initiative, UANL links digital transformation with faculty development. It also positions business collaboration as a component for maintaining the currency of its educational offerings.
