For the National Survey on Government Quality and Impact (ENCIG) of INEGI, corruption is the second most important problem detected in the country, after insecurity and crime. Third is poor care in health centers and public hospitals, followed by poverty.
The same problems are accused in states such as Aguascalientes, although in slightly lower percentages.

By topic, the numbers can go up. The ENCIG found that in the case of the state of Aguascalientes, 83.6% of the population aged 18 and over perceived that corruption is a very frequent or frequent practice among the police, followed by political parties with 82.6%. Nationally, only 13.6% of the population perceived that acts of corruption were infrequent.

François Valérian, president of Transparency International, stated:
“Corruption is an ongoing global threat that not only undermines development, but is also a decisive factor in the decline of democracy, instability and human rights violations. Fighting corruption must be an absolute and constant priority for the international community and all countries. This is fundamental to reversing authoritarianism and ensuring a peaceful, free and sustainable world. The dangerous trends revealed in this year’s Corruption Perception Index highlight the need to respond with concrete measures now to address global corruption.”
