Construction sector in Aguascalientes experienced a significant 19.7% production value growth in May 2026 year-over-year.

Construction companies in Aguascalientes increased their production value by 19.7% in May 2026 compared to the same month last year, according to the INEGI National Construction Companies Survey (ENEC).

According to the agency, the growth of in the state was also accompanied by a 3.9% increase in occupied personnel, a 0.2% advance in hours worked, and a 10% increase in average real remuneration paid to workers, compared to May 2025.

With this result, Aguascalientes outperformed the national performance in three of the four main indicators of the survey. While production value grew 8.1% nationwide, the state saw an advancement of 19.7%. Likewise, employment increased by 0.5% nationally versus the 3.9% registered in the state, and average real remuneration advanced 3.6% in Mexico, significantly below the 10% reported in Aguascalientes. Only hours worked showed more moderate growth in the state (0.2%) compared to the national average (-1.1%).

Nationally, INEGI reported that, with seasonally adjusted figures, the production value of construction companies increased by 2.7% compared to April and 7.5% annually. Additionally, occupied personnel grew 0.8% month-over-month, hours worked increased by 0.5%, and average real remuneration rose by 0.3% during May.

Among the states with the largest annual increases in the production value of construction companies were Hidalgo (411.1%), Tlaxcala (283.6%), Colima (68.7%), State of Mexico (64.3%), and Querétaro (41.5%). In contrast, the largest declines were recorded in Quintana Roo (-42.1%), Durango (-30.2%), Guerrero (-26.9%), Chihuahua (-26.0%), and San Luis Potosí (-25.9%).
