Monterrey Leads New Alliance Between Technology and Health: TCS Drives Digital Transformation

Digital transformation in healthcare is gaining new momentum from Monterrey with the introduction of Proyecto Esperanza, an initiative developed by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) through its Tech4Hope program, in collaboration with the Alianza Anticáncer Infantil (Childhood Cancer Alliance).

The project aims to strengthen comprehensive care for children with cancer and their families through a cloud-based technological platform that centralizes medical, administrative, and operational information. Additionally, the solution enhances patient traceability, optimizes internal processes, and facilitates data-driven decision-making.

During a press briefing at TCS offices in Monterrey, the company presented the advancements of this initiative, which combines

, specialized volunteerism, and social impact.

How Does Proyecto Esperanza Work?

The initiative was born to address some of the primary challenges faced by social organizations dedicated to medical care, such as fragmented information, manual processes, and difficulty accessing up-to-date data.

To tackle these challenges, TCS designed and implemented a cloud-based technological platform that consolidates various processes of the Alianza Anticáncer Infantil. The tool integrates patient, administrative, and operational information into a single system, enabling better inter-departmental coordination and facilitating case tracking. Furthermore, the platform incorporates data analytics capabilities, efficient storage, and real-time information access. This allows the organization to strengthen resource planning and improve the care provided to children diagnosed with cancer.

What Results Were Achieved Through the Collaboration Between TCS and the Alianza Anticáncer Infantil?

The Alianza Anticáncer Infantil has over 25 years of experience supporting low-income children diagnosed with cancer. Through Proyecto Esperanza, TCS contributed specialized expertise in software development, cloud technologies, and information analysis.

Among the results shared during the presentation are:

  • Direct benefits for over 1,200 children and families annually.
  • Over 1,635 hours of specialized technological volunteerism.
  • Generation of operational savings for the organization.
  • Increased capacity to manage medical and administrative information.

Additionally, the solution was developed under a skill-based volunteering model, where specialists applied their technical knowledge to address specific needs.

Monterrey Leads a National Technological Project

Furthermore, the development of Proyecto Esperanza was led from Monterrey and involved specialists from Guadalajara and Querétaro. TCS collaborators worked together to create a scalable solution that could adapt to the social organization’s needs.

Sangram Sahoo, Country Manager of TCS Mexico, highlighted that technology can generate impacts beyond the business realm. TCS currently has over 11,500 employees in Mexico and maintains a presence in Mexico City,

, Querétaro, and Monterrey. From these centers, it drives projects related to technological innovation, talent development, and social initiatives.

Why is Technology Gaining Relevance in the Healthcare Sector?

The digitalization of medical processes represents an opportunity to improve the efficiency of institutions and organizations dedicated to patient care. In this context, projects like Proyecto Esperanza demonstrate how tools such as cloud computing and data analytics can contribute to better information management and strengthen person-centered care.

Ashul Mehrotra, Head of CSR for TCS Latin America, pointed out that the combination of talent and technology enables the resolution of concrete social challenges.

Ultimately, the initiative connects three elements: technological innovation, corporate collaboration, and social impact, with the goal of generating solutions that strengthen pediatric oncology care in Mexico.
