Apple’s New Prices: MacBook Air Increases by $200 in the United States

The reported adjustments are concentrated on computers and tablets. Reuters reported that the MacBook Air with 512 GB increased from $1,099 to $1,299, while the MacBook Pro with 1 TB rose from $1,699 to $1,999.

Increases were also reported for iPads. The 128 GB iPad Air went from $599 to $749. Additionally, Axios noted that the MacBook Neo, introduced as an entry-level laptop, increased from $599 to $699.

The official Apple store in the United States already displays some of these new prices. For example, the 11-inch iPad Air with Wi-Fi and 128 GB is listed starting at $749, while the MacBook Neo is shown starting at $699.

Apple Attributes Adjustment to Memory and Storage

According to Reuters, Apple stated that memory and storage costs increased due to demand related to artificial intelligence data centers. These components are used in both technological infrastructure and consumer devices.

The explanation reported by international media indicates that Apple absorbed part of the increase but began to pass that cost onto certain products. The measure was not applied universally across its entire catalog.
