Concanaco Urges Businesses to Offer Affordable Broadcast Rights for 2026 World Cup Matches

The Concanaco Servytur has called on rights holders and authorized providers to establish accessible schemes and pricing for the broadcast of FIFA World Cup 2026 matches in commercial establishments across Mexico. The Confederation highlighted that

represents an opportunity to generate economic activity in sectors such as commerce, services, tourism, and gastronomy. Therefore, it deemed it important for more businesses to be able to participate legally in screening the games.

To this end, Concanaco has called for the design of licenses specifically tailored for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, particularly family-owned businesses.

The organization also reminded establishments that wish to broadcast the matches that they must possess authorized signals for commercial use. It emphasized that simply using free-to-air television, residential cable services, or personal streaming accounts is insufficient. Furthermore, it recommended avoiding pirated signals, illegal links, irregular decoders, and any mechanism that violates applicable regulations.

In this regard, Concanaco argued that facilitating access to legal broadcasting schemes would enable more establishments to offer safe and formal spaces for following the tournament.

Finally, Concanaco urged businesses and family-owned enterprises across the country to prepare to capitalize on the economic ripple effect that the 2026 World Cup will generate, with Mexico hosting matches in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey.
