Trade and Manufacturing: Employment Gains and Losses in Aguascalientes, Q4 2025
Aguascalientes saw significant employment shifts in Q4 2025, with trade declining while specific services and some industrial sectors grew, according to INEGI.
Aguascalientes concluded Q4 2025 with a significant reshuffling of its labor market: while the trade sector recorded the largest decline in employment, some consumption-related services and specific activities advanced. The industrial sector maintained marginal growth, driven by construction and mining/electricity, despite a setback in manufacturing, as reported by INEGI through the National Survey of Occupation and Employment (ENOE).
Employment Winners and Losers in Aguascalientes, Q4 2025 Snapshot
The primary impact was observed in the trade sector, which decreased from 128,788 employed persons in Q4 2024 to 122,399 in Q4 2025, representing a loss of 6,389 jobs. Consequently, its share of total employment fell from 19.4% to 18.3%. Within the industrial sector, the manufacturing industry—the most significant sub-sector within the secondary sector—saw a decline from 151,605 to 150,537 employed individuals, a reduction of 1,068 people. Its contribution to the total state employment decreased from 22.9% to 22.5%. Nevertheless, within this secondary sector, advancements were recorded in the mining industry with an increase of 1,865 jobs, while the construction sector added 925 jobs. In contrast, the primary sector reported an increase of 4,934 individuals, rising from 25,506 to 30,440 employed persons, thereby elevating its participation to 4.5%. Within the tertiary sector, several segments advanced: restaurants and accommodation services added 2,748 jobs, while professional, financial, and corporate services grew by 1,804, and diverse services by 2,469.
