San Luis Potosí’s vehicle fleet increased by 4.4% between 2024 and 2025; during the same period, hybrid vehicle registrations grew by over 50%. Nationally, Mexico City, the State of Mexico, and Jalisco account for 67.5% of the total hybrid vehicle figures available for 2025.

Automobiles and Motorcycles Contribute 85.1% to Fleet Increase

By class, automobiles increased from 827,630 to 858,668 vehicles, an increase of 31,038 units or 3.8%. Motorcycles grew from 314,060 to 342,517, an increase of 28,457 units and a variation of 9.1%, the highest among registered classes.

For trucks and light trucks for cargo, the count rose from 453,817 to 464,142, an increase of 10,325 vehicles or 2.3%. Passenger buses increased from 4,862 to 4,953, with an additional 91 units and a variation of 1.9%.

Collectively, automobiles and motorcycles accounted for 59,495 units, equivalent to 85.1% of the net increase of 69,911 vehicles in the state’s fleet.
