Guanajuato Harvests 2026: 17,000 Visitors, 16 Dates, and Over 80 Experiences
Guanajuato's annual wine harvest season is set to attract 17,100 visitors with 16 events across five municipalities.
The Guanajuato Harvests 2026 season is entering its final stretch with an expectation of 17,100 attendees over a season comprising 16 dates across five municipalities. Furthermore, the state’s enotourism offerings encompass over 80 experiences at more than 80 vineyards, featuring activities that combine wine, gastronomy, tours, and insights into production processes. The season takes place in Dolores Hidalgo, San Miguel de Allende, San Felipe, Irapuato, and Silao, destinations that are part of a state strategy to expand wine culture-related tourism. Through the Ministry of Tourism and Identity (SECTURI), the Government of Guanajuato positions enotourism as an activity capable of generating opportunities for producers, restaurants, service providers, businesses, and communities linked to this value chain.
Five Guanajuato Municipalities Host the Harvest Season
The Guanajuato Harvests 2026 edition includes 16 dates spread across five municipalities. Throughout the season, visitors can participate in tastings, vineyard tours, gastronomic proposals, and activities related to the process behind each harvest.
The key highlights of the season are:
- An estimated 17,100 attendees.
- 16 harvest dates.
- Five participating municipalities.
- Over 80 experiences.
- More than 80 vineyards integrated into the offering.
This diverse range of activities aims to connect visitors not only with the final product but also with the viticultural landscapes, agricultural work, and processes developed in the wineries.
Guanajuato Ranks Fourth Nationally in Wine Production
The significance of the harvest season is also tied to Guanajuato’s position within the Mexican wine industry. Currently, the state ranks fourth nationally in wine production and fifth in grape production for winemaking.
Notable varieties within the state’s enological offerings include Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, which are part of the production developed in Guanajuato’s vineyards. Thus, the harvest season serves as a convergence point for agricultural activity, wine production, gastronomy, and tourism.
Over 80 Vineyards Part of the Enotourism Offer
The Guanajuato Harvests season allows visitors to explore over 80 vineyards and participate in experiences designed to showcase various stages of winemaking. In addition to tastings, the program incorporates gastronomic proposals and tours that offer insights into both the cultivation and the work carried out by producers and winery staff. Consequently, the Guanajuato Harvests 2026 offering extends beyond grape harvesting to become an integrated tourism activity that links landscape, production, gastronomy, and regional identity.
San Miguel de Allende to Host an International Wine Gala
Guanajuato’s wine agenda will continue on November 29th and 30th, when San Miguel de Allende will serve as the foundational host for the CMB International Gala Guanajuato 2026. The event will bring together producers, buyers, specialists, media, and stakeholders connected to the wine industry. For this inaugural edition, an attendance of approximately 500 guests is projected, with 300 being international and 200 national. Tentatively, representatives from 28 countries and territories are also expected to be present. The event is designed as a platform for establishing industry relationships and expanding promotional and commercialization opportunities for wines produced in Guanajuato.
Guanajuato Seeks to Enhance Promotion of Its Wine Industry
The CMB International Gala Guanajuato joins the harvest season as a second platform for promoting the state’s viticultural activity. While the Guanajuato Harvests brings visitors closer to vineyards and harvest-related experiences, the international event scheduled for November will have a profile focused on producers, buyers, specialists, and industry representatives.
