Aguascalientes Ranks Fifth in Grape Production in Mexico, Confirms Viticulture Council

Aguascalientes produces an average of 14,300 tons of grapes annually, solidifying its position as Mexico's fifth-largest producer, with government support boosting quality and yield.

Aguascalientes, fifth producer of grapes in Mexico, assures Viticulture Council

According to figures from the Viticulture Council of Aguascalientes, released by the State Government, the state registers an average annual production of 14,300 tons of grapes, a volume that places it as the fifth largest producer in the country.

According to the state administration, this result is supported by initiatives aimed at table and wine grape producers, including the delivery of certified grapevines, refrigeration chambers, packaging machinery, value-added centers, irrigation systems, tractors, and other equipment to increase productivity and improve harvest quality.

Regarding the start of the harvest season, Rafael Galván Nava, a producer from the Refugio de Providencia community in the municipality of Cosío, highlighted that the harvest represents the culmination of year-round work.

“For us, the producers, this is what brings us the most satisfaction. When we see the production, we feel not only joy but also great satisfaction and a sense of calm because, in my case, I can say: my effort is paying off,” he shared.

, affirmed that the recovery of this crop has strengthened one of the most traditional agricultural activities in the state.

“It is a great satisfaction to see how Aguascalientes is reviving one of its most emblematic agricultural activities.
