participated as an honorary witness in the signing of the agreement, which formalizes both the construction and the operational model of the project. The venue will be erected opposite Isla San Marcos, on state government-owned land. The project will be realized under a completely private investment scheme, although the official announcement does not specify the amount, the planned capacity of the venue, or the construction dimensions.
“This is a significant project that will strengthen the economic, tourism, cultural, artistic, and entertainment development of our state,” stated Jiménez. The governor added that the objective is to have a space capable of hosting national and international performances not only during the Feria Nacional de San Marcos but throughout the year. The operational model will vary by season. During the Feria Nacional de San Marcos, the Patronato de la Feria Nacional de San Marcos (PFNSM) will manage the venue and define the artistic programming. Outside of the fair period, operations will be handled by the consortium comprised of national and local businessmen with experience in entertainment, as reported by the State Government. The intention is to maintain a permanent schedule for the remainder of the year and expand the use of the Forum of Stars beyond the weeks in which the fair takes place.
“The people of Aguascalientes deserve a dignified, world-class venue where they can enjoy major spectacles and which, moreover, generates significant economic spillover,” affirmed the governor. According to the presented timeline, construction will progress through 2027, with the opening scheduled for April 2028. This date will coincide with the commemoration of the 200th anniversary of the Feria Nacional de San Marcos, a celebration the state government aims to accompany with new infrastructure for spectacles and tourism activities.
