Nissan Kicks Celebrates 10 Years Since Latin American Launch
The Nissan Kicks is celebrating 10 years since its global launch in Brazil, where its commercialization began in 2016. The development of the model started in 2014, based on the preferences of Latin American consumers, with the involvement of Nissan teams and regional professionals, as well as the company’s design centers in Latin America, Japan, and the United States. Subsequently, in 2017, Nissan initiated the manufacturing of the model at the Resende Industrial Complex in Brazil. “Throughout these ten years, the Nissan Kicks has remained relevant thanks to its ability to evolve alongside customer expectations,” stated Gerardo Fernández Aguilar, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Nissan Latin America. Over the past decade, the Nissan Kicks has incorporated features such as Zero Gravity seats, along with connectivity, safety, and driving assistance solutions. The model has also featured various special editions, including the Rio 2016, UEFA Champions League, Rock Edition, and Nissan Kicks XPlay, as well as a commemorative version for Nissan’s 60th anniversary in Mexico. The second generation of the SUV features a new appearance, increased interior space, and advanced driving and safety technologies. Depending on the trim level and market, it can integrate Nissan Safety Shield functions and the ProPILOT system. As part of the anniversary-related activities, in Brazil, a Nissan Kicks Exclusive unit produced in Resende was customized by artist Tico Canato, who created a Nissan Kicks Art Car with references to Brazilian and Japanese cultures. Currently, the Nissan Kicks is present in markets such as the United States and China, according to information provided by the company.
