San Luis Potosí's Conferences and Conventions Generate 500 Million Pesos in 2025
San Luis Potosí saw an economic boost of nearly 500 million pesos in 2025 from 68 conferences and conventions, attracting over 70,000 attendees.
In 2025,
strengthened its role as a strategic hub for meetings tourism in Mexico. Congresses, conventions, and exhibitions placed the capital on the national and international radar, attracting thousands of visitors and generating significant economic spillover. According to the Municipal Tourism Directorate, the city hosted 68 congresses and conventions. In total, it welcomed over 70,000 attendees. As a result, the economic impact from congresses and conventions in San Luis Potosí was estimated at nearly 500 million pesos. Furthermore, the Potosí capital strengthened its international positioning in meetings tourism. Claudia Lorena Peralta, head of the department, reported participation in Tianguis Turístico, FITUR Madrid, Road Shows, and specialized forums.
Conferences and Events that Drove Economic Impact in San Luis Potosí
Among the most relevant gatherings was AMESTUR’s International Congress of Tourist and Sociocultural Animation 2025 (CIATS). This event brought together experts, academics, and students, focusing on tourism innovation and professionalization.
Subsequently, Aeroméxico’s 2025 Annual Global Sales Convention placed the city at the center of the airline industry. Over 140 executives from America, Europe, and Asia participated. During the event, the San Luis Potosí–Atlanta route was announced, offering over 6,000 monthly seats.
The First BNI Reconnect Congress also stood out. The gathering brought together over 800 business owners and generated an economic impact exceeding 50 million pesos. Furthermore, business leaders and key figures from the entrepreneurial ecosystem participated.
Fairs and Exhibitions that Strengthened Supply Chains
The San Luis Potosí Supplier Fair 2025 recorded over five thousand visitors and the participation of 340 companies. Each firm held between 15 and 20 business meetings. Additionally, spaces were opened for cybersecurity and strategic sectors.
Finally, the Expo Potosí Industrial 2025 brought together over 300 companies and solidified the city’s position as an industrial hub in the Bajío region. The event promoted B2B meetings, investment attraction, and the strengthening of supply chains.
