Scania Consolidates Bajío Expansion with New León Headquarters
Scania México invests 51.19M pesos in León headquarters relocation, enhancing service capabilities in Bajío region with sustainability focus.
This strategic move aims to bolster Scania’s operational footprint in Guanajuato and position after-sales services closer to the key logistical corridors of the Bajío region. The facility will cater to routes serving Mexico City, Aguascalientes, Guadalajara, and San Luis Potosí.
The new headquarters significantly enhances the infrastructure for fleet servicing and maintenance within one of the nation’s most dynamic regions, establishing a strong nexus with the industrial and logistics cluster in Silao.
Scania’s investment in León addresses the imperative for more expansive, efficient, and sustainable facilities. The company states that this initiative will lead to reduced waiting times and optimized technical service delivery.
Its prime roadside location streamlines the ingress and egress of units, while the newly expanded operations yard boosts the capacity for simultaneous vehicle servicing.
The facility spans a total area of 5,323 square meters, featuring a 1,580-square-meter workshop equipped with 7 work bays, enabling the execution of up to 1,900 services annually.
Furthermore, a 120-square-meter warehouse, stocking approximately 3,000 part numbers, ensures the immediate availability of essential spare parts for prompt service.
This expansion introduces four additional service bays compared to its prior location, alongside a specialized area dedicated to major component repairs, thereby strengthening comprehensive support for regional transport operators.
The new León facility was meticulously designed with a focus on energy efficiency, safety, and operational comfort, all in stringent adherence to Scania’s international sustainability benchmarks.
It incorporates LED lighting, advanced air extraction systems, and 11 cooling units to ensure optimal working conditions throughout the facility.
Additionally, a dedicated waste separation zone has been implemented, and the infrastructure is prepared to service compressed natural gas (CNG) units, aligning with the transport sector’s energy transition policies.
The company emphasized that this relocation is an integral component of its comprehensive customer service model, which prioritizes operational agility and the nationwide standardization of processes.
The inauguration of the new headquarters in León significantly enhances Scania’s technical service coverage within the Bajío region, a strategically vital area for both the automotive industry and freight logistics.
