The National Survey of Occupation and Employment (ENOE) from INEGI revealed that, in the third quarter of 2025, 1.2 million people were employed in the state. This represents six thousand more jobs compared to the previous period in 2024. A salary is considered the amount of money paid for the performance of a job or service. In Mexico, no worker should receive less than the minimum wage stipulated by the National Minimum Wage Commission. This Wednesday, President
announced that the agreed minimum wage for 2026 will be 315.04 pesos daily at a general level, effective January 1, 2026. This will represent a minimum monthly wage of 9,582.47 pesos per month. Meanwhile, the Northern Border Free Zone will have a minimum wage of 440.87 pesos daily; that is, the minimum wage will be 13,409.80 pesos monthly. According to federal authorities, this increase will represent a 154% rise in purchasing power between 2018 and 2026. It will also improve access to basic necessities, increasing from 1.8 basic baskets in 2025 to 2.0 in 2026, and 2.8 in the border region. However, only those who currently earn the minimum wage will benefit from this increase. In 2025, the general minimum wage was equivalent to 8,480.17 pesos monthly, while in the Northern Border region it was 12,771.35 pesos.
How Many Workers in Querétaro Earn the Minimum Wage?
According to data from the
, in the third quarter of 2025, 341,680 workers in Querétaro earned up to the minimum wage; that is, 8,480.17 pesos. This figure is equivalent to 28.5% of the state’s EAP, representing a 3.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024. In Q3 2024, 298,082 workers earned the minimum wage. In percentage terms, this represented 25% of the working population.
Income Levels of Workers in Querétaro
The majority of workers in Querétaro, 33.6%, earn more than one and up to two minimum wages, while a minority—0.6%—receive more than five minimum wages. That is, a salary greater than 42,000 pesos. This is the distribution of workers’ income levels in
