Call for Future Community Distinction 2026 Set to Launch in San Luis Potosí
San Luis Potosí announces the launch of the Future Community Distinction 2026, recognizing companies for innovation, sustainability, and social impact.
The City Council of
announced that in January 2026, the call for applications for the Future Community Distinction 2026 will commence. This recognition is aimed at companies established in the municipality that demonstrate practices in innovation, sustainable development, and social impact. The distinction seeks to highlight companies that transform their internal policies into measurable actions, yielding positive results for the community and the local economic environment.
Future Community Distinction 2026: Which Companies Are Eligible?
Korina Toro Reyna, Director of Municipal Economic Development, explained that the call for applications is aimed at companies committed to continuous improvement, innovation, and the development of a more prosperous and inclusive city. Furthermore, participation in the Future Community Distinction 2026 strengthens competitiveness, allows for the documentation of best practices, and integrates companies into a local business network, evaluated by academic institutions and business organizations.
40 Companies Recognized During the Current Administration
During Mayor Enrique Galindo Ceballos’ administration, the Department of Economic Development has awarded 40 Future Community Distinctions to local and international companies. Evaluations focus on five key pillars: No Poverty, Good Health and Well-being, Gender Equality, Climate Action, and Quality Education. The process involves an Evaluation Committee comprising the Autonomous University of San Luis Potosí, Tecnológico de Monterrey SLP campus, the Polytechnic University, El Colegio de San Luis, and Industriales Potosinos A.C..
Awarded Companies in 2025
In the 2025 edition, the distinction was awarded to 15 companies. The honored companies were evaluated for their performance in sustainability, social impact, and economic viability criteria. The recognition was distributed as follows: -Gold: Mezcal Júrame; Binasa Bearings and Spare Parts; La Loma Golf Club. -Silver: Industrial Papelera San Luis; WABTEC de México; Grupo Bimbo. -Multicolor: SIIX EMS México; Grundfos Pumps de México Manufacturing; SABIC; Lear Corporation. -Bronze: NODE PARK; Packaging and Wraps; Grupo PG Industrial; WABTEC Corporation. -Certificate of Participation: Bestpack Solutions.
