Apple Event 2026: Launches, Innovations, Pricing, and More
Apple unveils iPhone 18 series, foldable iPhone, AirPods 5, and Apple Watch updates with a strong AI focus.
Apple Event 2026: Launches, Innovations, Pricing, and More
The Apple Event 2026 fulfilled one of the most anticipated dates on the technology calendar. This Wednesday, September 9th, Apple ushered in a new era for its device ecosystem with the introduction of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, AirPods 5, new Apple Watches, and finally, the long-awaited foldable iPhone.
The presentation took place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, under the theme “Surprise and Shine.” This event held particular significance for the company, marking the first major product event led by John Ternus as CEO of Apple, following his assumption of the role on September 1st, succeeding Tim Cook.
Indeed, Cook made a brief appearance at the beginning to introduce Ternus, who then took center stage as the keynote presenter. The leadership change elevated the event beyond just a product update, signifying the dawn of a new chapter for one of the world’s most important technology companies.
iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max: Apple Ups the Ante on AI and Photography
The centerpiece of the Apple Event 2026 was the new generation of its high-end phones: the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Apple concentrated much of its innovation in four key areas:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Performance
- Battery Life
- Photography and Video
The new devices feature the A20 Pro chip, manufactured using a 2-nanometer process, with a six-core CPU and a seven-core GPU. The architecture aims to enhance the performance of demanding applications and, notably, enable artificial intelligence features to run more efficiently directly on the device.
This strategy incorporates a component Apple deems fundamental: privacy. During the presentation, John Ternus positioned the iPhone as a personal AI hub, capable of understanding user context and utilizing that information to facilitate daily tasks without commodifying personal data.
A Camera Designed for Creators
Photography was another major highlight of the iPhone 18 Pro. Apple showcased images and videos captured with its devices to reinforce an idea the company has been cultivating in recent years: the iPhone is not just a phone, but also a content creation tool.
One of the most significant innovations is the incorporation of an adjustable aperture, allowing for more precise control over the amount of light entering the camera. This opens up new possibilities for manipulating depth of field and achieving various visual effects without relying solely on computational processing.
Key features include:
- 48-megapixel main camera
- Adjustable aperture
- Advanced video tools
- 4K recording
- Improved motion control
- New editing options
- Texture and color adjustments
- Enhanced creative control over photographs
Design and Colors
The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are available in four finishes:
- Burgundy
- Deep Black
- Silver
- Glacier
The size of the Dynamic Island has also been reduced, as Apple continues its focus on optimizing screen real estate and facilitating real-time activity tracking.
Pricing and Availability
The iPhone 18 Pro will have a starting price of $1,199, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max will begin at $1,299 in the United States.
Pre-orders will commence on September 12th, with devices arriving in stores on September 18th. For Mexico, the final pricing will depend on configuration, taxes, and Apple’s commercial strategy for the national market.
Siri AI Gains Prominence at the Apple Event 2026
One of the most significant changes involves Siri, which receives a new generation of capabilities linked to Apple Intelligence. The assistant will be better able to interpret conversation context and leverage information from various applications to execute tasks. Examples presented include actions related to messages, emails, calendar, recommendations, and other daily activities.
Furthermore, Apple aims for Siri to function as a more natural interface for interacting with its device ecosystem. The company also confirmed that the Spanish version of Siri AI will launch in October, a particularly relevant detail for users in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking markets.
Apple Finally Enters the Foldable Smartphone Market
One of the announcements that generated the most anticipation prior to the event has finally materialized: Apple has introduced its first foldable iPhone. This move is significant as Samsung, Google, and Motorola have been competing in this category for several years. Apple, true to its usual strategy, waited for the technology to reach greater maturity before entering the segment.
This device represents one of the most substantial design shifts for the iPhone since the removal of the Home button with the iPhone X. The launch could also reshape the premium smartphone market, particularly if Apple successfully translates its ability to integrate hardware, software, and services within a unified ecosystem to the foldable segment.
The rumored iPhone Duo, a strong contender in pre-event speculation, ultimately became one of Apple’s major surprises. Initial indications point to a premium device with a price point near or exceeding $2,000, although pricing and market availability should be considered separately. For Mexico, this launch could become one of the highest-value technological products within Apple’s catalog.
AirPods 5 Arrive at the Apple Event 2026
The AirPods 5 also had a dedicated segment during the presentation. The new generation retains Apple’s open design concept but incorporates enhancements in audio, noise cancellation, and AI-linked features.
Key innovations include:
- Up to 50% more effective active noise cancellation compared to the previous generation
- Adaptive Audio
- Real-time translation
- Interaction with Siri AI
- New volume controls
- Up to five hours of battery life with active noise cancellation
- Case with wireless charging options
Live translation is once again highlighted as a feature designed to make AirPods a more useful tool for travel and international communication.
The AirPods 5 will have a starting price of $129, while the version with wireless charging will be priced at $149. Availability is scheduled for September 18th.
Apple Watch Series 12 and Ultra 4: Health, Activity, and Artificial Intelligence
The ecosystem refresh extended beyond phones and headphones. Apple also unveiled new generations of its smartwatches. The Apple Watch Series 12 incorporates the S11 chip, performance improvements, and new tools for physical activity, sleep, and personal metric tracking.
One of the most striking changes is the integration of artificial intelligence to analyze data collected by the device. Announced innovations include:
- Advanced sleep tracking
- Heart rate monitoring
- Physical activity analysis
- Recovery-related features
- VO2 Max measurement
- New longevity section
- All-day health data analysis
- Intelligent audio features
Also introduced is Audio Intelligence, designed to identify relevant ambient sounds such as alarms, sirens, or doorbells. Another feature is Live Rewind, which allows users to replay the last few seconds of audio heard. Additionally, Siri Recap aims to generate summaries and log important information from specific conversations, though some of these features will roll out later in beta phases with initially limited availability.
The Apple Watch Series 12 will have a starting price of $399, while the Apple Watch Ultra 4 will begin at $799.
In terms of design, Apple is reintroducing a ceramic finish option for the Series 12, alongside new colors and finishes. The Ultra 4 will be offered in hues such as black and natural titanium.
iOS 27 Presented at the Apple Event 2026: Enhanced Intelligence and Security
The hardware unveiled at the Apple Event 2026 is accompanied by iOS 27, an operating system designed to deepen integration across the company’s devices.
One notable new feature is the strengthening of parental control tools, with enhanced oversight of content and applications accessible to minors. Improvements to AirDrop were also announced, offering up to 80% faster file transfers under conditions specified by Apple.
