The head of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedeco), Mario García Valdez, announced that the company will sign a letter of intent next Friday in Mexico City. However, due to confidentiality agreements, the company’s name has not yet been disclosed.

The official indicated that it is an automotive company that will generate direct employment and contribute to strengthening the cluster established in San Luis Potosí.

According to Sedeco, the investment for the automotive plant’s establishment in San Luis Potosí exceeds 1,150 million Mexican pesos. The secretariat also noted that the company already has a land reserve of several hectares to develop its project, indicating that negotiations are in an advanced stage.

The arrival of this company will integrate into an industry that currently represents one of the state’s primary economic drivers, propelled by the presence of assembly plants, top-tier suppliers, and specialized component manufacturers.

San Luis Potosí currently hosts operations from companies like BMW Group, which produces premium vehicles at its Villa de Reyes plant, in addition to an extensive network of suppliers involved in advanced manufacturing, auto parts, logistics, and industrial services.
