Querétaro's Automotive Market: January 2026 Performance Review
Querétaro's automotive market saw a 2.3% decline in January 2026 vehicle sales compared to 2025, complicating the sector's outlook despite national growth.
Vehicle sales in the state of Querétaro recorded a 2.3% decrease in January 2026 compared to the same period in 2025, which complicates the sector’s outlook. This was highlighted by Laura Rodriguez Miranda, president of the Association of Automotive Vehicle Distributors of Querétaro (AMDA), who noted that the entity ranked 14th nationally in terms of unit sales. *“The truth is, it’s disheartening because we have always ranked between 9th and 10th, and currently, there has been a significant decline. The buyer report indicates that, approximately, we experienced a 2.3% drop compared to the same month last year. And while last year was challenging, this year is proving even more difficult,” she stated. *According to Rodriguez Miranda, in January 2026, Querétaro registered sales of 2,912 new vehicles, whereas in the same month of 2025, it sold 2,981 units.## States Report Decline in Vehicle Sales: AMDAAmong other data, in January 2026, the state contributed 2.3% of the total national vehicle sales. Across the country, 126,415 units were sold, representing a growth of 5.4%.The following states recorded a decline in vehicle sales for January 2026, according to AMDA:

- Aguascalientes
- Baja California
- Baja California Sur
- Colima
- Morelos
- Sonora
- Tabasco## Trucks Lead Vehicle Purchases in QuerétaroThe multi-purpose and truck segment maintained buyer leadership with 1,602 operations registered in January 2026 in the state. These operations accounted for 55% of the total units sold.On the other hand, automobiles totaled 1,310 sales, distributed among the following unit types:
- 711 compact cars
- 447 subcompact cars
- 144 luxury cars
- 8 sports carsFinally, AMDA reiterated that the capital city of
concentrated the majority of sales, with 1,843 new units acquired. This was followed by Corregidora with 321 units and San Juan del Río with 269, while dealerships in El Marqués accounted for 260 vehicles sold.*Discover more at:*The post
