According to the FGR itself, Alejandro Gertz Manero is a lawyer who graduated from the Escuela Libre de Derecho, holding a Doctorate in Law from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the University of Mount Union in Ohio, USA, and the Universidad de las Américas, A.C.
Throughout his career, Gertz Manero has served as a professor at various educational institutions. He was an instructor at the Autonomous Technological Institute of Mexico (ITAM) and UNAM, in addition to teaching Criminal Procedural Law at the Universidad de las Américas A.C. (UDLA).
In his public service career,
he held various key roles within the government sector:
- Secretary General of the National Institute of Anthropology and History.
- Assistant Federal Public Prosecutor to the Attorney General of the Republic.
- Head of the Unit for the Defense of National Cultural Heritage at the Attorney General’s Office (PGR).
- Founder and First Director General of the Technical Institute of the PGR.
