Artificial Intelligence "Is Here to Stay" and Opens Historical Opportunity for Aguascalientes: Capgemini

Capgemini's President for North Latin America discusses how AI presents an unprecedented, equitable opportunity for Aguascalientes' technological and economic development.

During the panel *Vision 2026: The Future of Innovation in Aguascalientes –*organized by Capgemini– its President for North Latin America, Ramón Álvarez, stated in an exclusive interview for Líder Empresarial that artificial intelligence (AI) represents an unprecedented opportunity for the region’s technological and economic development. According to the executive, this technology’s global starting point differentiates it from previous revolutions by offering more equitable conditions for competition. “This is here to stay, and perhaps the good news is that it arrived globally at the same time, for everyone. No country has an advantage over another.” From his perspective, this situation opens

, particularly due to its demographic profile. “It is the youth who are adapting to this most rapidly, and that is the advantage a young country like Mexico could possess.” Álvarez simultaneously acknowledged that automation will impact certain job functions, especially repetitive tasks with low added value; however, he emphasized that the human role will be strengthened in strategic areas. “Depending on the business process, the human will ultimately be the hero.” The executive also explained that artificial intelligence will enable improved decision-making, optimized processes, and increased efficiency in areas such as brand strategy, demand planning, and production. “It will help you think much more efficiently; it will help you strategize for a brand, for a product.” Furthermore, he highlighted that the technology will allow companies to execute with greater speed and precision, while also opening new professional opportunities related to data management and quality. “Artificial intelligence relies on data, and a lot of data, so the veracity of data, content creation, validation, and cleansing of that data will grow significantly.”### Continue Reading ###Regarding talent development, Capgemini’s president indicated that universities must evolve towards models focused on analytical skills and critical thinking, while maintaining solid foundations in fundamental disciplines. “Many subjects that provide structural help will remain, such as physics, mathematics, philosophy, because these are still highly required.” In parallel, he anticipated that regulation will need to be strengthened, primarily concerning copyright, intellectual property, and disinformation. “There needs to be regulation for copyright, patents, and all of that; there is very high regulation, and I believe that will transform significantly.” Álvarez highlighted that Capgemini’s decision to invest in Aguascalientes over a decade ago was a response to the availability of talent and the quality of its educational institutions, factors that have enabled the continuous growth of its operations center. “The reason we invested here is because of the students, the quantity of young people and graduates emerging from this state.” He added that the company’s vision is for the entity to consolidate as a relevant hub for technological development in the country. “The strategic decision we made was that in 15 years, Aguascalientes will be a very high-level development pole for these types of technologies.” For the executive, the main challenge will be to accelerate the adaptation of talent, institutions, and companies to harness the potential of artificial intelligence, understood as a tool to expand human capabilities. “Humans created this not to bother us, but to empower us as individuals,” he concluded.## You can also readThe post
