Querétaro: Over 300 IT Companies and a Robust Digital Technologies Cluster
Querétaro consolidates its position as a digital transformation leader in Mexico, driven by a robust Digital Technologies Cluster that fosters collaboration, attracts investment, and develops talent.
The Digital Technologies Cluster has served as a strategic pillar in solidifying Querétaro’s position as a leader in digital transformation in Mexico. It achieves this by fostering collaboration among businesses, academia, and government to strengthen a competitive and constantly expanding technological ecosystem. Currently, according to its official website, this cluster comprises 41 technology companies, 16 academic institutions, and 13 government bodies and associations, alongside a network of over 150 specialized professionals. This configuration creates an innovation platform that drives technological development within the state. In this context, Querétaro has successfully positioned itself as a key node within the country’s digital landscape, thanks to a strategy focused on attracting investment, developing talent, and consolidating technological infrastructure.
Digital Technologies Cluster Reports Tech Ecosystem with Over 300 Companies
The Digital Technologies Cluster announced through its official website that the sector’s growth is reflected in the presence of over 300
information technology companies established in the state, which collectively generate over 25,000 direct jobs. Furthermore, the concentration of technology companies has fostered the creation of synergies among various sector stakeholders, facilitating knowledge transfer and continuous innovation. Key factors driving this growth include Querétaro’s strategic location, its logistical connectivity, the availability of high-quality infrastructure, and the presence of specialized talent—elements that together have favored the influx of new investments.
Tech Investment Exceeds 500 Million Dollars
In terms of capital, Querétaro has attracted over 500 million dollars in investments over the past year, primarily in projects related to data centers, software development, and information technology services. This investment flow responds to the increasing demand for digital infrastructure and technological services, both nationally and internationally. The establishment of data centers in the state also reinforces its role as a strategic hub for information processing and storage in Mexico. Concurrently, these investments generate multiplier effects on the local economy by incentivizing the creation of specialized jobs and the development of local suppliers.
Digital Technologies Cluster Emphasizes Talent Development
The strengthening of Querétaro’s digital ecosystem is also underpinned by human capital development. The Digital Technologies Cluster highlights that higher education institutions have expanded their academic offerings in fields such as computer science, software engineering, and emerging technologies. As a result, hundreds of specialized professionals graduate each year, entering a labor market that demands skills in programming, data analysis, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity.
