Huawei to Boost Training at the University of Guanajuato
The University of Guanajuato and Huawei Mexico partner to launch an ICT Academy, providing specialized tech training and certifications to students, enhancing employability for Industry 4.0.
The University of Guanajuato (UG) took a strategic step in its innovation and international engagement agenda by hosting a delegation from Huawei Mexico. The objective was to strengthen institutional collaboration and advance initiatives aimed at the technological, academic, and professional development of its community. The meeting was led by the General Rector, Claudia Susana Gómez López, who held a working session with representatives from the technology company to consolidate projects that will directly impact specialized training, knowledge transfer, and student employability.
Huawei ICT Academy: Certifications in High-Demand Areas in Guanajuato
A central focus of the dialogue was the implementation of the Huawei ICT Academy at UG, an initiative that will provide specialized training and certifications in globally high-demand technologies. This academic program aims to strengthen students’ technical competencies in areas related to information and communication technologies (ICT), expanding their opportunities for integration into highly competitive labor markets aligned with the needs of Industry 4.0. In addition to technical training, projects related to technology transfer, strengthening employability, and generating new educational opportunities that will soon be available to the university community were also discussed.

The Huawei Mexico delegation included Shau Wa Yu Tan, Public Affairs Manager; Li Qi, Product Manager; and Juan José Baños Leal, Commercial Education Manager. During the meeting, the foundations were laid to deepen this strategic collaboration in the medium and long term. Representatives from the University of Guanajuato included the General Rector, Claudia Susana Gómez López; the General Secretary, Salvador Hernández Castro; and the Academic Secretary, Diana del Consuelo Caldera González. The institution expressed its gratitude for the visit and highlighted the importance of consolidating alliances with global players in the technology sector, particularly in a context where digitalization and innovation are decisive factors for regional and national competitiveness.
