Which European Companies Will Invest in Nuevo León Following Samuel García's European Tour?

Nuevo León secures significant investments from European firms in advanced manufacturing, energy, and tourism following Governor Samuel García's European tour.

As part of his working tour of Europe, Governor Samuel García announced projects in advanced manufacturing, energy, mobility, technology, agribusiness, and tourism.

What Investment Announcements Were Made During the European Tour?

The tour included meetings with global companies from Sweden, the Netherlands, and Spain. The announcements involved companies such as Atlas Copco, Volvo, Scania, Ericsson, Alpine Green, Van der Hoeven, Heineken, Naturgy, Cox, and Grupo Barceló.

The Swedish company leads industrial solutions in air compression, power generation, and industrial vacuum. Its expansion strengthens sectors such as advanced manufacturing, automotive, infrastructure, and technology.

Furthermore, the project will drive the development of Mexican suppliers for Atlas Copco’s operations in the United States. Through this, the state seeks to solidify itself as a high-tech industrial hub.

Scania, Volvo, and Ericsson

Also in Sweden, Samuel García held meetings with executives from Scania, Volvo, and Ericsson.

Scania México announced a new branch in Nuevo León exceeding 30,000 square meters. This project will generate over 50 direct jobs in the state.

Meanwhile, Ericsson expressed interest in investing in the state. The government reported that it will collaborate with the company on 5G technology, automation, and manufacturing projects. Additionally, Samuel García highlighted the progress of Volvo’s factory in Nuevo León. The plant will span over 200,000 square meters and generate between 2,000 and 2,500 direct jobs.

Visit Strawberry Stadium

Finally, in Sweden, the governor also held meetings related to the 2026 World Cup. He met with Simon Åström, president of the Swedish Football Association, and visited the Strawberry Stadium in Stockholm.

The governor indicated that Nuevo León is preparing its gastronomic, tourist, and connectivity offerings to welcome over 5,000 fans from Sweden.

Netherlands

Alpine Green and Van der Hoeven

The second stage of the tour took place in the Netherlands. There, García announced an investment of $200 million by Alpine Green and Van der Hoeven.

Both companies will develop a greenhouse in Galeana. The project will incorporate advanced lighting technology from Signify.

According to the state government, this investment positions Nuevo León as a national benchmark in agricultural innovation and sustainable technology. It will also generate over 300 direct jobs.

Heineken

On another note, in the Netherlands, the governor also met with Heineken executives. The company announced an expansion plan exceeding 400 million euros.
