The Home Depot: Key Players in the 2025 Economic System
The Home Depot strengthens its presence in Mexico with strategic investments, driving employment, supply chains, and regional development, positioning itself as a key economic player.
In a context where private investment serves as a barometer of economic confidence, The Home Depot solidifies its significance within the 2025 Economic System. The company strengthens its presence in Mexico through strategic decisions that impact employment, supply chains, logistics, and regional development, particularly in states with high productive dynamism.
The announced expansion in Querétaro reflects a clear understanding of the national economic landscape. The company is investing in territories with demographic growth, legal stability, and logistical connectivity, factors that directly influence the long-term planning of large corporations. With this new investment,
it positions itself as one of the most influential economic players of 2025, by generating multiplier effects that transcend retail and strengthen entire value chains.
A 406 Million Pesos Investment Consolidating Expansion
The Home Depot Mexico confirmed an investment of 406 million pesos for the construction of its seventh store in Querétaro, with its opening scheduled for 2026. This move adds to the 1.85 billion pesos invested in the state over more than two decades of operation.
The new branch will be located in the Avenida de la Luz–Bernardo Quintana corridor, one of the areas with the highest urban and commercial growth in the Querétaro capital. The store will feature a catalog of nearly 45,000 products, in addition to professional installation services and solutions for residential and commercial projects.
Job Creation and Regional Multiplier Effect
The opening of the new store will generate approximately 80 permanent direct jobs during its operation. During the construction phase, nearly 200 workers will participate in the project’s development, boosting the local economy.
Municipal authorities estimate that the total impact will reach approximately 400 people, considering both direct and indirect employment. This multiplier effect includes activities such as logistics, transportation, auxiliary services, and regional supply.
Querétaro: An Attractive Environment for Private Investment
The arrival of The Home Depot occurs within a favorable investment climate. In 2025, Querétaro has attracted 8.6 billion pesos in private investment, in addition to registering the opening of over 3,100 new businesses.
These indicators reinforce the perception of Querétaro as a solid market, boasting legal certainty, modern infrastructure, and qualified human capital—key conditions for large-scale corporate decisions.
Boosting National and Local Supply Chains
One of the most significant impacts of Home Depot’s operation lies in its supply chain model. Eighty percent of its suppliers in Mexico are national, and in Querétaro, at least 20 local suppliers provide paint, tools, and construction materials.
This framework enables local producers to access large-scale distribution channels, strengthening the regional manufacturing industry and promoting the consolidation of local value chains, especially for SMEs.
Querétaro as a Strategic Logistics Hub
Since 2021, The Home Depot has operated a regional logistics hub in Querétaro that supplies not only the state but also San Luis Potosí, Aguascalientes, Michoacán, Zacatecas, and Guanajuato.
This center allows for reduced delivery times, optimized logistics costs, and improved regional competitiveness, positioning Querétaro as a key point within the company’s national distribution strategy.
Workforce Training and Social Responsibility
The Home Depot’s operation also elevates the profile of local human capital. The company trains its staff in specialized sales, product management, and customer service, enhancing the region’s workforce skills.
Furthermore, each opening is often accompanied by volunteer programs and community support, such as material donations and public space improvements, generating an additional social impact in the communities where it operates.
The Home Depot: Key Player in the 2025 Economic System
The 406 million pesos investment confirms four strategic factors:
- Business confidence and economic positioning
- Generation of formal employment and labor dynamism
- Strengthening of local and national supply chains
- Development of regional logistics infrastructure
With these elements, The Home Depot solidifies its position as a relevant actor within the 2025 Economic System, directly influencing growth, competitiveness, and sustainable regional development.
