incMTY 2026: Nuevo León Aims to Drive Further Startup Investment to Bolster its Economy
Nuevo León's Economy Secretary emphasizes fostering startup investment and entrepreneurship as key drivers for economic growth and highlights incMTY's role in connecting talent with capital.
During the inauguration of incMTY 2026, the Secretary of Economy of Nuevo León,
, highlighted that the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is the result of decades of collaboration among government, businesses, and civil society. From her perspective, this cooperative model has positioned Nuevo León as one of the most dynamic economic and industrial hubs in the country. In her address, the official emphasized that platforms like incMTY strengthen the connection between talent, capital, and innovation—elements crucial for fostering new businesses and high-impact projects. “What we have built together—government, businesses, and civil society—is what makes Nuevo León strong”, she stated.
What Does Entrepreneurship Mean for Nuevo León’s Ecosystem?
Furthermore, in her message to entrepreneurs, students, and investors, Rocha reflected on the significance of
and the process involved in transforming an idea into a tangible project. Moreover, the Secretary noted that entrepreneurship is not merely about starting a business, but about developing a vision that enables the identification of opportunities, the assumption of risks, and persistence in the face of challenges. To achieve this, she stated, requires determination, resilience, and a strong conviction in the value of one’s ideas. “Entrepreneurship is a journey of courage, resilience, and passion. Believe in your vision, act with determination, and do not fear failure”, she asserted. Rocha explained that many of the most successful entrepreneurial initiatives precisely originate from individuals who decided to commit to their ideas even in contexts of uncertainty. Therefore, she invited festival participants to leverage the event days to strengthen their projects, share experiences, and learn from other entrepreneurs.
Why Does Nuevo León Seek to Drive More Investment in Startups?
Furthermore, during her address, the official indicated that one of the significant challenges for the entrepreneurial ecosystem is broadening access to capital for emerging projects. While Nuevo León possesses a robust industrial base and a substantial number of global corporations, Rocha deemed it essential to strengthen investment in startups and innovative companies that can become engines of economic growth in the coming years. “We need to continue elevating investment in the state’s ventures and commit to talent developed in Nuevo León”, she maintained. In this regard, she called upon investors, entrepreneurs, and private sector leaders to invest in local talent. She recalled that many of the major companies that distinguish the entity today began as projects spearheaded by entrepreneurs who found support within the regional ecosystem. Furthermore, she pointed out that strengthening investment in innovation will enable Nuevo León to solidify its position as a national benchmark in technological development and business creation.
How Has incMTY Transformed After More Than a Decade?
Nevertheless, Rocha also highlighted incMTY’s evolution since its creation over a decade ago. What began as a gathering to share ideas on entrepreneurship, she noted, has today become a platform capable of connecting entrepreneurs with investors, businesses, and universities. For the Secretary, this evolution reflects the growth of Monterrey’s innovation ecosystem and the role the city has assumed within Latin America’s business landscape. “Today, we are inaugurating more than an event; we are inaugurating a platform that connects ideas and creates opportunities”, she remarked. Finally, Rocha invited attendees to leverage the festival to build long-term relationships, exchange knowledge, and generate projects that contribute to the economic development of the state and the country. “If there’s one thing we take away from these gatherings, it is the richness of sharing ideas and collectively building new entrepreneurial narratives”, she concluded.
