What Benefits Will CANACINTRA's Productive Supply Chain Committee Bring to Aguascalientes Industry?

CANACINTRA Aguascalientes launches a committee to strengthen local industry, enhance supply chains, professionalize talent, and boost foreign trade amidst new regulations.

CANACINTRA Aguascalientes announced the formation of the Leading Companies and Productive Supply Chains Committee. This committee aims to be a catalyst for change within the local industry. In an economic environment demanding increasing integration and efficiency, the committee proposes to articulate the region’s main industries to drive the strengthening of value chains, the professionalization of talent, and the promotion of foreign trade, all amidst a period of regulatory transformation and new rules of origin.

Strengthening Value Chains: Linking Local Suppliers

Strengthening value chains is one of the committee’s core objectives. CANACINTRA Aguascalientes seeks to ensure that leading companies effectively integrate local suppliers into their production processes. This will not only enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises) but also foster the development of new industrial players. Erika Muñoz, President of CANACINTRA Aguascalientes, commented on this strategy: “Strengthening productive supply chains through linkage with local suppliers is key to ensuring efficient integration of local offerings. This is an essential step for our companies to remain competitive against global demands.”

Furthermore, efforts will be made to facilitate access to quality certifications, which is crucial for suppliers to meet international standards and enter the supply chains of global companies. This approach directly aims to improve the integration of Mexican suppliers in key sectors such as automotive and aerospace, sectors in which Aguascalientes holds significant importance.

Talent Professionalization: Training in New Technologies

The committee also prioritizes human talent development. This process focuses on training in crucial areas such as quality management systems, artificial intelligence, and data analytics. This knowledge is essential to ensure that local companies are at the forefront of technology and can comply with international production standards. “One of the greatest needs currently facing the industry is the adoption of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence. We must offer specialized training in these areas, especially in the automotive and manufacturing industries, to optimize processes and enhance competitiveness in global markets,” stated Miriam Sánchez Ocampo, Treasurer of CANACINTRA Aguascalientes.

Additionally, the training will address key areas such as financial management and quality systems. According to Sánchez, “small businesses must understand how to optimize their internal processes for cost reduction and margin improvement, areas where the adoption of technologies can make a difference.”

Foreign Trade: Adapting to New Global Regulations

Foreign trade is another key focus for the committee, given the environment of constant changes in international agreements, such as the USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement). The committee will seek to strengthen the adaptation of local companies to new rules of origin and other foreign trade regulations, which will allow Aguascalientes to maintain its competitiveness in the global market. Erika Muñoz noted: “As new international norms are implemented, especially those related to rules of origin in trade with the U.S., companies in Aguascalientes must adapt quickly to take advantage of nearshoring opportunities and continue to be a strategic point for global manufacturing.”

Support for MSMEs will be geared towards providing them with tools to overcome the challenges posed by internationalization, particularly concerning customs and tariff regulations.

The creation of the Leading Companies and Productive Supply Chains Committee is a decisive step to consolidate Aguascalientes as an industrial and investment benchmark. With the collaboration of key stakeholders such as CANACINTRA, leading companies, and the federal government, a strategic and collaborative approach will be ensured to strengthen local industries, enhance competitiveness, and foster the development of a more robust productive ecosystem. This synergy aims not only to overcome current challenges but also to position Aguascalientes as a leader in the reconfiguration of value chains in the Bajío region.
