2026 Revenue Law: What Budget Will the Potosí Capital Receive?

San Luis Potosí's city council approves the 2026 Revenue Law, detailing the budget for the Potosí capital and its financial commitments.

During the ordinary session held at the facilities of the Potosí Institute for Scientific and Technological Research (Ipicyt), the City Council of

approved by majority the draft Revenue Law for Fiscal Year 2026. The session at Ipicyt was held to commemorate its 25th anniversary and reaffirm the strategic alliance between public administration and the academic community. Enrique Galindo Ceballos, municipal president, highlighted that the proposed law is moderate and emphasized that the coming year entails significant financial commitments. He assured that his administration will make an effort to respond to the city’s needs. Galindo Ceballos underscored that 2026 will bring important financial commitments and that his administration will work diligently to address the needs of the Potosí capital.

Projects and Reforms in the 2026 Revenue Law

The mayor also mentioned that the new Revenue Law includes reforms in various areas, such as operating and construction licenses. These adjustments aim to make it easier for more citizens to process procedures efficiently and regularize their situation, thereby allowing for the incorporation of more taxpayers into the system.

Maritza Jenith Vázquez Pérez, councilwoman on the Finance Committee, emphasized that this law will not only guarantee projects and public works in the city. It will also maintain animal welfare programs, including free adoption, vaccination, and sterilization campaigns.

San Luis Potosí to Receive a Budget Exceeding 3 Billion Mexican Pesos

The proposal establishes a budget of three thousand six hundred fifty million pesos (MXN 3.65 billion), an amount similar to that approved for the 2025 fiscal year. This document will be sent to the State Congress for its analysis and eventual authorization.
