How Jalisco Will Oversee 2025 Year-End Bonus Payments
Jalisco's Labor Secretariat announces an operation to ensure timely year-end bonus payments for 2025, detailing employee rights and enforcement measures.
The Secretariat of Labor and Social Welfare of Jalisco (STyPS) announced a statewide operation to verify that all employees receive their year-end bonus on time and in full, in accordance with labor legislation. Payment must be made before December 20th and cannot be delivered in kind or be subject to deductions not stipulated by law. Learn all the details.
What Employees Should Know About the Year-End Bonus in Jalisco
The head of the agency, Ricardo Barbosa Ascensio, reiterated the mandatory nature of employer compliance. “Our message is clear: the year-end bonus must be paid, and it is the obligation of every employer to comply with the law”, he stated.
This right applies to all employees in the state, who must receive at least 15 days of salary or the proportional part if they have not completed one year of service. The provision includes permanent, trusted, temporary, seasonal, domestic workers, and individuals working through digital platforms.
Extraordinary Inspections and Focus on High-Risk Sectors in Jalisco
To ensure compliance, the STyPS will conduct extraordinary inspections during the first week of January 2026, with an emphasis on economic sectors with high mobility or a history of non-compliance. Barbosa noted that every year, doubts and omissions related to this labor benefit increase. “It is an inalienable right for all workers; if there was subordination, there is an employment relationship”, explained the official, stressing that the agency seeks to detect and correct incorrect practices before they generate major conflicts.
Free Legal Counseling and Comprehensive Support for Employees
In addition to the inspections, the Labor Defense Attorney’s Office will offer free legal counseling and representation for those facing incomplete year-end bonus payments, wage retention, unfair dismissal, discrimination, harassment, or workplace accidents. “We want workers to know that we are here to listen to them, guide them, and protect their rights”, stated Attorney Patricia Campos Alfaro, who highlighted that many cases are resolved through conciliation with companies. “The year-end bonus is a right that must be enforced, and from the Attorney’s Office, we accompany you to guarantee its fulfillment.”
During the holiday period from December 22nd to January 6th, service will only be available at the Guadalajara headquarters, located at Calzada de las Palmas 96, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Starting January 7th, all offices will resume their usual hours. Interested individuals can request guidance by calling 33-3030-1000, extension 26710.
